1985 Apache 41 Race Done Aronow Design
The 41 Apache is the most quintessential hull the storied brand has ever produced and this is the finest example in existence. “Team Apache” was restored from top to bottom, bow to stern, keeping the boat as close to original as possible with some key modern updates to make it better than new. Only a small number of 41’ race versions were made and this is the most sought after one. If you ever wanted a true Apache race boat in turn key condition, with a pedigree, this is the one.

To make “Team Apache” new again, a very rigorous process was undertaken by an "open checkbook no expense spared" owner. Every part of the boat was either refurbished, replaced, or custom made to make it perfect. TNT Custom Marine in Miami Florida orchestrated the restoration and completed the final rigging.

The Keith Eickert engines are 900 HP and based on 575 Merlin blocks. They were refreshed and upgraded with modern intercoolers by Progressive Racing Engines. BAM Marine transmissions are mated to Mercury Racing number 6 drives that are far more suited to the performance and power of the fresh engines. New fuel tanks are beautifully done to look like the originals.

Many of the various hinges and hardware on the boat were fabricated just for the boat. A custom anodized aluminum dash with engravings was done to display the new modern gauges and monitors, while retaining the look of the original.

With the help of Bob Saccenti, the founder of Apache Powerboats the original painter of the boat, Gail Paik, was commissioned to repaint “Team Apache.” Paik, who worked extensively with the original Apache Racing team, painted the boat like the original and it is breathtaking work of art.

Miami Prestige took over the interior details to recreate the flawless three-man bolster race setup. Not one detail was overlooked. The new upholstery and bolstering looks like the original. With the center steer race setup, Latham Marine controls and throttles, the 41 Apache has all the history matched to the right amount of modern features to make it functional and true to it’s heritage as an offshore race boat.

The rigging was done by TNT Custom Marine, which is known for being the best in the country when it comes to race boats, custom pleasure boats and some of the most incredible restorations.

Apache Powerboats have a reputation as the finest offshore V hulls of their era when offshore racing was incredibly hardcore. Speed, durability, offshore championships and style were some of the ingredients that make Apache the most sought after name to boaters all over the world. The 41 Apache might be the pinnacle of “thunder boat row” and classic Miami offshore racing and this 41’ “Team Apache” Red Banner boat is the nicest example in existence.
