I have taken time to add as much information as possible so please be sure to read through the listing. This Tartan has been loved and cared for. A great boat and buy
From the collaborative efforts of designer Sparkman & Stevens and boat builder and Tartan Marine, together they produced nothing short of a thoroughbred. Years later, still one of today’s classic cruising yachts. Don't let the year fool ya! Many seasoned sailors will tell you, this beauty has better bones than anything built these days and better than most during the days of past, and with all the upgrades and maintenance, this boat is in well above average condition.
Spectra Water Maker - Solar - Viking life raft, never deployed may need to be re-certified.
Air Marine wind generator.
Boasting a strong and rigid structure. Secondary bonding and filleting of structural members to the hull of the Tartan 38 is some of the best that will be found in any boat. And it is not common to find structural problems with these boats.
The interior, the joiner and finish work on this boat are first rate.
The Tartan 38 is a comfortable and capable offshore cruising boat and generally, makes no pretense to be anything else.
By any standard of performance comparisons for a boat of this class, the Tartan 38 is anything but disappointing. She is quite stable, with windward and downwind sailing performance that is certainly acceptable. When reaching, as would be predicted, this boat excels. Prices of used Tartan 38s put them in the moderate price range, but generally they are very good values. Quality construction, excellent reputation and loyal owners tend to maintain their value, and demand for well-maintained used boats is generally high. Dragonfly is no exception.
