Krogen 54 interiors are highly regarded for their luxury accommodations. These yachts are overly built and were designed to live life out at sea. The interior of Ursa Minor has benefited from a complete interior refit. In 2009 Argonautica Yacht Interior Design Company was contracted to upgrade the yacht's interior. When you compare Ursa Minor today to how this series of yachts was built new in the late 1980s, it is apparent styles and life aboard long-range cruising yachts changed for the better. When you inspect Ursa Minor's interior, you notice the 1980s have been erased and everything inside Ursa Minor has been replaced. Soft goods, wallcoverings, carpeting, the galley was completely refit, custom mattresses and bedding. All the mica countertops have been replaced with attractive granite countertops. The owner hired one of her favorite Bahamian artists who etched custom glass shower doors to replace the shower curtains that originally came with the 54 Krogens. The carpeting was chosen specially and there is a lead lined carpet runner beneath the carpet padding which makes the interior of this yacht whisper quiet, even with the main engine and generator operating. The owners confirmed they easily hear their TV in the salon while cruising and nobody ever needs to raise their voice in order to be heard. Please study our photographs and additional interior details are shown later in the full specifications of Ursa Minor.
So far, the listing has spoken about the Awlgrip exterior re-paint, the professional interior refit and the replaced main engine and generator. The owners also completed a refit of their pilothouse helm. The original Kadey-Krogen 54 pilothouse was typical for her day and I do believe Mr. Krogen would approve of the work done to his hull # four. The seller completely changed the helm design and he built in his Garmin suite of electronics to match the helms of the 40-meter yachts he was captaining for a living. The wallcovering material used here is flat matt black, meaning no glares or reflecting light while passage-making, just like the wheelhouses of the mega-yachts he ran.
The accommodations deck of this Krogen 54 is unique because she is a three-stateroom layout with two heads. The master is first and sits in the middle of the boat. This is a large stateroom and the ensuite bath has a bathtub. Forward of the master stateroom, there are two staterooms that accommodate four guests. There is a twin bunk cabin to port and a double cabin located forward. The guests share a head located on the starboard side of Ursa Minor. This series of yachts is known for their abundant storage. Teak joiner work throughout the interior of this yacht still looks great. The interior of Ursa Minor was recently deep cleaned and we feel she is ready for your white glove inspection.

MASTER STATEROOM:
The Master Stateroom sits low and in the middle. This is a large space with ensuite bath. Natural light comes in through the opening ports and through two boat prisms overhead. The berth is a walk around king sized bed. The German-Gel custom mattress was replaced in 2022. There is a full-size vanity on the portside of the master. Besides storage drawers beneath the bed, there is an uncommonly huge built in wardrobe locker. Needless to say, you have the ability to take your gear for all four seasons plus all your favorite shoes.
VIP STATEROOM:
The VIP stateroom is located forward and accommodates two in a double berth. Generous headroom in this stateroom adds to a comfortable feeling. A large opening hatch serves as emergency egress but also lets in natural light and fresh air. There is a makeup table and hanging locker and ample drawer storage on the starboard side of the VIP.
GUEST HEAD:
There is a full head with stand-up stall shower located to starboard for the two guest staterooms to share.
GUEST STATEROOM:
Along the port side and forward is the guest stateroom. The guest space is large enough for full size adults to sleep in complete comfort. There is more than adequate space between the upper and lower single berths to ensure a good night's rest. Reading lights, opening ports and 12-volt fans are all operational.
Up four steps from the salon, the pilothouse offers exceptional visibility, comfort, and spaciousness.
Good ventilation from the entry doors and opening windows. The reverse raked windows not only lend to the vessel's handsomeness and "salty look" appeal, but provide for reduced sun glare and increased visibility due to rain and spray. The settee also serves as a watch berth. All new pilot house layout has wrap around cabinets that house all the instruments black Formica to reduce glare, and Faux baby ostrich padded tops.
