The Oyster 55 is one of the most iconic and timeless designs in yachting history, aimed at providing a safe, fast, ergonomic, and comfortable platform for long range shorthanded cruising. Featuring a raised deck saloon, center cockpit, cutter rig, sugar scoop transom, fully-skegged rudder, and 3 cabin/1 workshop layout with a large owner’s suite aft, this design philosophy has become nearly ubiquitous, with similar examples from Oyster and dozens of other brands/boatbuilders having sailing millions of shorthanded miles around the world. It can be argued that Oyster did it first and did it best, and many would say that they still do.
BAKER STREET specifically has benefited from a charmed life, having had only two owners. The original owner was a mechanical engineer and specced the boat out with many custom and redundant systems that set her in a league above the other 55’s. This includes redundant autopilots, anchor windlasses, and power generation systems. Her current owner is a professional superyacht captain who invested heavily into maintenance and modern upgrades. He and his family enjoyed cruising and living aboard and are now ready for the next chapter, presenting a fantastic option for a future owner to step into a pedigree cruising boat which is truly turnkey, and at a competitive price point. BAKER STREET is booked for winter storage in Maryland where she can be inspected and launched for sea trial and sail away year-round.

The spacious main salon greets you as you come down the companionway and dominates the midships section with plenty of headroom and natural light thanks to the raised deck-level windows. The XL U-shaped settee to starboard seats 6-8 around a large, fixed teak table which conceals a storage cabinet in its pedestal. A flatscreen TV hangs on the bulkhead just forward of the table. The port settee offers two lounge-style seats with an armrest between them.
The nav station sits just aft of the port-side settee and is open to the rest of the salon over a low desk.
Behind the nav station on the port side is a walk-through utility room/work bench which then leads to a walkthrough head and shower that opens to the aft cabin.
The walk-through galley is aft and to starboard, with ample countertop space. The passageway is narrow enough that one feels secure while cooking underway. Modern, front-opening fridge and freezer doors allow for easy access to cold storage.
Walking aft through the galley leads you to the generous aft cabin (master) with a walk-around double berth on the starboard side and a small couch/settee to port. Plenty of natural light and ventilation is provided by the overhead deck hatch and multiple port lights.
The engine space is centrally located underneath the companionway, access is offered on all sides via panels in the galley, utility room, salon, and master cabin.
Walking forward from the salon a single-level transition into the passageway leads to the spacious, bathtub-style V-berth that holds its occupants securely. A second guest bunk cabin is to starboard, and to port is a shared head and shower.
