Description
Exterior
The KCD 25m Explorer, ‘Globemaster’ capitalises on outstanding efficiency and seakeeping characteristics in this proven highspeed displacement platform seen in both commercial and luxury variants, and supported by solid real-word data and CFD studies.
The chiselled aesthetic, impressive hull glazing, and superyacht proportions of the exterior culminate in a visually dominating vessel. The completely separate decks mean accommodation beneath does not affect the space above. They provide over 2150mm of clear headlight without compromising the overall vessel height, minimising windage and maintaining a sleek styling.
The extensive aft deck enables configuration of a preferred layout. The current configuration allows plenty of space to easily access toys stored in the two aft lazarettes on deck which are also provide access to the machinery and engineering spaces below, and the large tender stored on the aft platform.
An electric sun shade extends from beneath the master cabin aft deck, providing plenty of protection from the sun when needed, and being seamlessly stowed when unused, allowing natural light into the main deck space.
The generous side decks make their way around the main-deck superstructure glazing providing both Port and Starboard access to the wheel house and foredeck. Glass bulwarks allow undisturbed views from the main deck space. A seating space in the bow provides a viewing platform and access to anchoring systems below.
The wheelhouse hardtop features over 100m2 of solar panels and a nav mast to support all navigation and communication equipment.
Maindeck
Large sliding aft doors open to an open plan family space. Extensive Glazing provides 180-degree views, bringing in plenty of natural light. With 2150mm of clear headlight and an uncluttered layout, the space feels vast and connected to the surroundings. To port, the large residential galley provides plenty of storage and work space and features full-size appliances. A large family-size dining table is located centrally, with a large lounge space to starboard, which would feature a large TV on the aft bulkhead.
A grand floating stair case provides access to the master cabin and wheel house, and is mirrored by a hardtop skylight allowing light to pour down throughout the two levels. Forward of this is the day head, laundry space, and panic-room space, which would be accessed from one of the guest cabins and wheelhouse sole hatch. This space would provide access to all controls, nav and communication equipment and provide an escape hatch out through the bottom of the wing deck with access to a life raft or escape vessel.
To port is a large media room featuring a TV and floor-to-ceiling glazing. Forward of this is the main guest cabin and ensuite, also with floor-to-ceiling glazing.
The starboard side features a gym and twin guest cabin, also both featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing.
The lower-deck crew mess and cabin is accessed by starboard stairs, with storage spaces, additional pantry, and fridge-freezer space by the port stairs.
Upperdeck
The central floating staircase leads to the master suite and wheelhouse landing.
The master cabin entrance leads past an office space, then opens out into the spacious master suite. Wrap-around glazing provides a 180-degree view, with access out onto the aft deck space.
A private master-lounge with TV is located to port where there is access to the luxurious master ensuite.
The wheel house also provides 180-degree visibility. A relaxed seating space to port allows guests to be where the action is while exploring. A chart table is located on the aft bulkhead, with a head on starboard finishing the space off.
